Subaru BRZ 2013

The extravagant Subaru BRZ is the result of a partnership between Subaru and Toyota that will put an affordable sports car at anyone’s reach.  The Scion FR-S is the Toyota equivalent of this vehicle at roughly the same cost.  This is a car that can be used for daily driving and, for the more car intrigued individuals, as a fun sports car to drive around.

The BRZ is a rear wheel drive car with a naturally aspirated engine in it.  This can be important to someone who wants a fun car without sacrificing too much fuel efficiency. The BRZ gets about 22 city/ 30 highway mpg and has a flat-four cylinder engine producing 200 horsepower at 7000 rpm and 151 ft-lbs of torque at 6400 rpm.

I would personally go with the 6 speed manual because I have fun driving stick shift but if manual transmissions aren’t your style then don’t worry because it comes in automatic also.  The lightweight BRZ coming in at about 2700 lbs is perfect for someone looking for a smaller sports car.  Other than the Honda s2000 and Mazda Miata, there aren’t many cars that fit the style of the BRZ and FR-S.  The joy in this car comes to me simply because it is a small rear wheel drive sports car with flashy looks that will earn your fair share of respect on the streets.  Subaru being the manufacturer for my favorite car, the Subaru WRX STI, really makes me admire their work along with Toyota’s in producing this car.

If you’re a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) car enthusiast like I am you will be happy to hear that there are tuning shops that can help you push more power out of the vehicle. There are many online stores that have aftermarket parts available for the BRZ such as exhausts, cold air intakes, spoilers, rims, and much more.  Aside from ordering parts on eBay and Amazon, you can order your parts from websites such as frsport.com or passwordjdm.com, which have a wide variety of aftermarket parts that will help you put your own signature on your car. With a little bit of a visual upgrade one can transform their car and make it look more appealing than it is already.

With a car like this, you will be well on your way to participating in your local car shows and car meets, where you can show the world your creativity through your prized vehicle.  Here are some pictures from Stancenation.com showing what some drivers have done to customize their vehicles.
