Mexican Vacations- Visit Cabo San Lucas!

Ready to soak up in the sun!!! I’m sure you’ve heard of your favorite star going to Cabo or perhaps your friends for Spring break! But how about you??? The bay of Cabo San Lucas, at the southernmost tip of Baja, was once a base for pirate vessels waiting to pounce on Spanish treasure ships. Even fifteen years ago, it was little more than a fishing and canning village occasionally visited by adventurous sports fishermen. Since then, it has earned a reputation for the marlin that can be caught here, and the bay is now full of sleek, radar-equipped fishing yachts. Multi-million-dollar second homes occupy the best vantage points, palms have been transplanted, golf courses have been laid, water has been piped in from San José and everywhere is kept pristine. It’s more like an enclave of the US than part of Mexico, with almost all aspects of civilization geared to tourism! Even a mammoth Wal-Mart has opened here, alongside Puerto Paraíso, an enormous mall on the marina, and future plans include an artificial island to sit in the bay, complete with restaurants and bars. No wonder Californians just absolutely love it and head out there every chance they get! Now is your turns to visit Cabo!

You’ll find crashing waves off Cabo’s Pacific coast and sheltered, calm water on the Sea of Cortez. Given those options, Cabo has built a rare reputation for both excellent outdoor sports (big-game fishing, diving and kayaking, among others) and pure beach relaxation. Of course, there’s also great nightlife. Cabo’s resorts, hotels and inns cater to everyone from honeymooners to families to Hollywood stars seeking a weekend getaway!

Cabo San Lucas first beckoned to Hollywood’s elite in the 1970s as a luxurious reprieve from the “dregs” of show business. The town’s rather seedy reputation changed as world-class resorts took up residence here, in the neighboring village of San José del Cabo, and along the 18-mile stretch of highway that connects the two (known as “the Corridor“). The construction of an international airport in the 1980s made it easier for travelers from all over to hop a nonstop flight to the “Los Cabos” area.

Thirty years later Cabo San Lucas is still known for its decadence; most likely you’ll find celebutantes sunning themselves side-by-side on a Cabo beach.

Maybe you’d prefer to settle the family into a sunset pirate cruise or have a guitar player serenade you during a romantic candlelit dinner? Perhaps you’ve come for a memorable wedding on the beach?

No matter the age Cabo has always something in store for you. If you are looking for Landmarks and geological formations bringing out the explorer in you then you can’t miss “El arco de Cabo San Lucas” or Lands End; tourists flock to this natural rock formation famous for being a whale-watching site and snorkeling spot. The we have Cabo Sol Golf Club, Lover’s beach, Cabo Dolphins and of course clubs and bars like Nikki Beach!

Packing your bags?? I wouldn’t blame you!!!
